Do you have a car park?
When booking your stay at The Sands you will automatically be given one car parking space in our secure car park located on-site. The car park has an automated shutter with an intercom system that you will need to call on arrival – please be advised if you require a disabled car parking space please do call beforehand as we only have a limited number and work on a first come first serve policy.
Do you provide electric car charging?
We also have an electric car charging station available for guests, please contact reception for more details. First come first serve due to limited number.
Do you have additional cap park spaces?
Extra car parking can be paid for on Royal Albert Drive (Foreshore Road) of a price for around £6 per day.
Free car parking can be found a short walking distance away from The Sands on Weydale Avenue or Northstead Manor Drive.
If you can call beforehand with an estimated arrival time we can make sure a member of staff can greet you on arrival.
What time do we check in and out?
You can check-in from 3 pm and check-out is before 10:30 am.
Please feel free to use your allocated car park space from 12 pm on the day of your arrival.
What time is reception open?
Reception is open from 8 am - 10 pm (Tues & Weds close at 7 pm)
If you arriving later please let reception know your estimated time of arrival so we can organise a key collection.
An out of hours contact number is on hand 24/7 for any emergencies.
Do you have free wi-fi?
Yes, each apartment has access to wi-fi.
Do you have a lift?
Yes, to all floors. (Our maisonette apartments have internal stairs)

How to Book
These apartments are only available by booking direct, so please call us to reserve your stay. A charge of £20 per dog, per night will be added.
Can I smoke in the apartment or on the balcony?
No, whilst smokers are most welcome smoking is not permitted within The Sands complex. If a guest smokes in an apartment or on the apartment balcony, The Sands reserve the right to charge a £100 cleaning fee. Smoking areas are designated at the front of the buildings.
Do you have a gym?
Yes, the gym is open 8 am - 8 pm. It is located on the Mezzanine level of Kepwick A Entrance. (Close to the car park entrance).
Do you provide towels and linen?
Yes, all apartments come fully furnished with linen and towels included.
Please bring your own bed linen if using one of our travel cots as we only provide the mattress base.
Do I pay a deposit?
Yes, to secure any booking a 50% non-refundable deposit will be taken with the entire balance due 28 days before check-in. We recommend a holiday cancellation insurance policy, which covers cancellation through illness, accidents, etc.
Do I get charged a damage deposit?
Damage Deposit: A valid credit or debit card will need to be produced at check-in, a pre-authorisation of £100.00 will be held against the card and will only be used in case of any damage to the apartment or building. The amount will be held for up to 10 working days, automatically cancelling at that point. (This is new from 1st April 2023)
What happens if I cancel my stay?
Cancellation by Guest: For all bookings, a 28-day cancellation policy is in place and the remainder of the balance is charged (please note that the 50% deposit paid on booking is non-refundable and any additional extras are 100% non-refundable and taken at the time of booking)
Cancellation Insurance: We recommend a holiday cancellation insurance policy, which covers cancellation through illness, accidents, etc. We recommend Guest First - www.guestfirst.co.uk
Do all apartments have a balcony?
Yes, the only exception being our disability friendly apartment having a Juliet Balcony for added security whilst still enjoying floor to ceiling sea view.
What is in the welcome pack?
A local ale, a small bottle of wine, biscuits, Yorkshire crisps, a pint of milk, tea and coffee pods, and sugar.
Prefer non-alcoholic options? No problem — just pop down to reception and we’ll be happy to swap them for you.
We also provide you with some Washing up Liquid, Dishcloth & Tea Towel as well as a selection of Eco Boutique bathroom products to help you settle in.
Our Eco Boutique 295ml products are free to use during your stay, but please do not dispose of or remove the bottles from the apartment. If any are missing (disposed of or taken) at the end of your stay a £10 per bottle charge will be charged from the card your accommodation payment was taken from. If you do wish to purchase any of the toiletries please head down to reception where they can be purchased.
What in house entertainment do you have?
We have a selection of DVD,s / Board Games / Books / Wii Games and Nintendo Switch available to hire from reception for £7 per day.
Do you have travel cots and high chairs?
Yes, all apartments have a travel cot and a high chair, just let us know and we will set those up before your arrival. Please bring your own bed linen if using one of our travel cots as we only provide the mattress base.
